Tenure Track in Mathematics

Taylor University is seeking applications and nominations of distinctive candidates for a tenure track Mathematics faculty position in the Mathematics Department beginning in August 2022. Rank and salary are dependent upon qualifications and experience.


Candidates must have a personal, vibrant faith and Christian walk and be strongly committed to the educational mission and evangelical Christian orientation of the University. Candidates should have an earned doctorate in Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, or a related field.  ABD will be considered, as will a Master’s with considerable work experience in data science or data analytics.  Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required.  Mission and departmental fit are of primary importance, but extra consideration will be given to those with demonstrated expertise in statistics and/or data science.  The ideal candidate will help establish a dedicated Data Science major in the department, in conjunction with the Computer Science & Engineering department and other campus partners.

The appointee will teach a variety of courses across the standard mathematics curriculum, but ideally will focus on statistics courses at a variety of levels, and help develop further courses in the area. The candidate should be comfortable with creative pedagogy, active and holistic learning, and online instruction.

The successful candidate will be expected to develop and maintain an active program of faculty-mentored student research and scholarship.  Active membership in professional societies, professional service, student advising, faculty governance responsibilities, and chapel attendance are expected.


The Mathematics Department offers various majors in Mathematics as well as Mathematics and Computer Science Education, and a minor in Data Science. The department has 7 full-time faculty and is housed in the Euler Science Complex.
